Mission
1. To promote tourism in the three communities of Haines, Skagway, and Juneau in Southeast Alaska promoted as "The Golden Arc of Alaska." Since Educational Travel & Tours-Alaska is based in Haines, Alaska, a major emphasis will be devoted towards inviting the 800,000 to 1,000,000 tourists and visitors that travel to Juneau and Skagway to spend time in Haines, Alaska, which has much to offer.
2. Educational Travel & Tours-Alaska will offer an international travel club with several membership benefits. After a free 60-day trial, the annual dues will be $10.00 a year. All memberships will be processed on our web site. The name of the travel club is "Golden Arc Adventurers" and when members get 20 certifications on their Travel Passport, prizes will be awarded.
3. Educational Travel & Tours-Alaska will be operated under similar guidelines established by the Internal Revenue Service for 501(c)3 organizations. There are no employees. Educational Travel & Tours-Alaska has business licenses for the State of Alaska, the Haines Borough, and the City of Skagway. Educational Travel & Tours-Alaska will seek to work with any not-for-profit organizations similar to the 2002 "Clara Nevada" project of the Sheldon Museum and Cultural Center. John Venables is the Executive Director and is registered as sole proprietor.
4. Educational Travel & Tours-Alaska is a member of the Haines Chamber of Commerce and the Skagway Chamber of Commerce. John Venables is a member of the American Bald Eagle Foundation and the Sheldon Museum and Cultural Center. He has served as a docent at the Sheldon Museum & Cultural Center for three years and has been a volunteer for the Southeast Alaska State Fair.
